Refund Policy
ASBD may collect personally identifiable information such as name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address, institution affiliation, through various activities of the Association. This personal information is collected and used by ASBD for the purpose of facilitating a relationship or providing information to its members.
The ASBD website resides behind a firewall and uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer, the industry-standard security protocol used to communicate with browsers) to transmit personal information. Data is strongly encrypted during transmission to ensure that personal information is secure. Industry-standard data encryption techniques are used to protect personal information on PCO computers. SSL-capable browsers typically have a symbol on the browser window to indicate when they are in a secure mode.

ASBD does not sell or rent e-mail addresses to other organisations. ASBD may generate e-mail for the following types of communication:
- Transactional e-mail, which is the result of a business transaction initiated with the ASBD.
- Relationship e-mail, which is sent as an informational service because of a relationship with the ASBD.
- E-mail sent to promote an ASBD activity.
- E-mail that has a provision for opt-out will include instructions on how to do so. All inquiries regarding subscription-based e-mails should be directed to the ASBD Secretariat.

ASBD occasionally sends informational or promotional materials to members.

Annual membership subscription is not refundable once Elsevier (publishers of The Breast) have been notified of the subscription.
Meeting registration cancellations will only be accepted in writing. Cancellations made before the 'early bird' registration date will be refunded, less AUD$100 administration fee. Registration cancellations made four weeks' prior to a Meeting, or as a specified in registration brochure / information will incur a 50% cancellation fee. No registration refunds are made after this date. Alternatively, a registration can be transferred to another person up to four weeks prior to a Meeting without incurring any cost penalty. The Meeting Secretariat must be advised of the transfer in writing.
